Over the next few editions of the newsletter, IDHDP will be selecting an example of how unnecessary red tape is causing pain, suffering and death in many places.

Doctors all over the world are constantly facing red tape when it comes to treating certain conditions.  The two conditions that IDHDP is hearing about all the time are addiction and pain.  Prescribing even small amounts of morphine to people dying in excruciating pain is very difficult even impossible in many countries. Prescribing OST is at best very difficult in most of the world and in some cases completely illegal. Even naloxone, the safe antidote used to reverse opioid overdose, can be very hard to get to the right people at the right time. Many doctors feel as if policies based on dogma are preventing them from treating their patients properly and want to see change.

We start with a story about naloxone in Ireland, Click here to read the article.
