The bill that regulates medical cannabis in Colombia passed the first debate in the Senate
The bill that seeks to regulate the medical marijuana in Colombia passed its first test in the First Committee of the Senate on 11th November, which was approved by thirteen votes to two against.
12 Nov 2014The initiative was promoted by the Senator Juan Manuel Galán, and won the support of the Liberal Party, the U Party, the Democratic Pole and the Democratic Centre and of some congressmen of the Conservative Party. The only two parliamentarians that finally voted against the bill were Paloma Valencia and Jose Obdulio Gaviria.
