THE CONFERENCE BRINGS TOGETHER A RANGE OF EXPERTS ON PROTECTING AND PROMOTING HEALTH IN NIGHTLIFE SETTINGS.

15 May 2019 to 17 May 2019 | Amsterdam

The very first Club Health conference was held in the world famous Cream nightclub, Liverpool in 1997. Following the success of the event, The 1st International Conference on Nightlife, Substance Use and Related Health Issues was held in Amsterdam in 1999. Club Health conferences have since been held bi-annually in Australia, North America and throughout Europe. The 11th International Conference on Nightlife, Substance Use and Related Health Issues returns to Amsterdam in May 2019.

In the past 20 years, the Dutch nightlife scene has grown tremendously, especially in and around the city of Amsterdam. There are more multiple day events, an increasing number of international visitors, the extension of opening hours and more locations with a 24-hour permit.

The nightlife industry has an enormous economic and cultural value to the city and the country. But it comes with challenges such as public annoyance, violation of drug laws and nightlife related health incidents.

The Netherlands has a long history of implementing pragmatic policies, prevention and harm reduction practices and the use of instruments like Antenna and DIMS to monitor and evaluate these interventions.

By hosting Club Health Amsterdam 2019, the Jellinek, GGD Amsterdam and the City of Amsterdam want to demonstrate how partnerships and cooperation between stakeholders can be both productive and rewarding.

We invite you to attend the 11th International Conference on Nightlife, Substance Use and Related Health Issues.
