8 Feb 2016 |

About the conference

Substance misuse has become a public health threat in Central Asian countries and require additional support from International professional organisations.

RCGP SMAH strongly believe that this evidence-based training programme can be tailored, adapted, modified and shared across to other parts of the world including Central Asia where opiate and non-opiate addiction poses huge public health threat.

For this reason, RCGP propose to lead an International Conference on, Management of substance misuse and associated health, which will be held on 8-9 February 2016 in Dushanbe city, capital of Tajikistan, and will be a first step for establishing connection with Central Asian Healthcare Institutions.

The programme is designed in order to:

  • bring together world recognised experts whose diverse expertise should stimulate discussions and push cutting edge research and collaborations.
  • explore some of the big challenges that are currently happening in UK and Central Asian countries in the field of substance misuse and to develop a long term collaboration plan.
